When First Nations lead child and family services, children and families are better supported, with services grounded in their communities, cultures and needs.

Today, Tribal Chief Mark Arcand of the Saskatoon Tribal Council, on behalf of all seven member First Nations, each of which is participating in the agreement, and the Honourable Mandy Gull-Masty, Minister of Indigenous Services Canada, came together to sign a historic regional agreement on the long-term reform of the First Nations Child and Family Services Program. Named Māmowōhkamātowin, which means "working together" in Cree, it marks the first regional agreement in Canada outside Ontario.

WHITECAP DAKOTA NATION, SK – August 20, 2026 – Whitecap Dakota Nation and Dakota Dunes Resort are pleased to announce that the highly anticipated Dakota Dunes Thermal Spa will officially open to the public on December 4, 2026, introducing a new destination wellness experience to Saskatchewan.

The official opening date was announced today during a special event at Dakota Dunes Thermal Spa construction site, with the Hon. Mandy Gull-Mast, Minister of Indigenous Services Canada, joining Whitecap Dakota Nation leadership and invited guests to recognize this important milestone.
