Councillor Dwayne Eagle

Councillor Eagle was re-elected to a four year term in November 2020.

He  was born on the Whitecap Dakota First Nation and lived there until 1987. He attended high school at Nutana Collegiate where he was known for his sportsmanship in all sports, excelling in track and field, and football.  He also played hockey in Dundurn and the Whitecap Warriors.

Dwayne Eagle had been employed in the drywall trade since 1979.  He began as a sub-contractor, then started his own company in 1988.  During his career, Dwayne moved east to Niagra Falls, Ontario for five years, and then returned west to Calgary in the summer of 1992.  He returned to Saskatchewan in 2001, continuing with his career until he was elected for Councillor for 2003-2009.  In 2009 Dwayne returned to being an entrepreneur in the drywall trade which facilitated him to manufacture a device to assist with dry walling for other companies in the trade. Dwayne ran for Councillor again in 2012 returning to his previous position within Whitecap Dakota First Nation. Dwayne was re-elected as Councillor in 2016.  He enjoys traveling, meeting new people, spending time with his family, cooking, singing, watching movies and playing poker.  He enjoys being a Councillor, seeing the difference, and being part of strengthening the community.

Councillor Eagle plays an active role in the economic development initiatives of the Whitecap Dakota First Nation. His keen interest and purpose in that realm serves him well as he devotes himself to his position as Councillor as well to the many committees he involves himself in.  Councillor Eagle’s portfolio includes Health and Social Development, Child and Family Services (CFS), Whitecap Children’s Center (Daycare), Fire Protection, Justice, Residential School, Environmental and Hunting and Trapping.
