Important Update - Notice of Vote
Along with this notice of vote to WDFN Members for a community approval vote on the proposed WDFN Constitution and the WDFN Governance Agreement with Canada, Council has approved an Preliminary Voters List that includes all names of Eligible voters (18+) as of October 7, 2022. To preserve Members’ privacy, this list will not be posted publicly on-line. The list may be viewed by contacting WDFN at 306-477-0908 or emailing engage@whitecapdakota.com.
If a WDFN Member wishes to correct the list, they must contact the Approval Processes Officer by 5 pm, Friday September 23, 2022.

WDFN Community Approval Process
In order for the Self-Government Agreement to be approved, the following must take place:
- At least twenty-five (25) per cent of all Eligible Voters must participate.
- At least twenty-five (25) per cent of all Eligible Voters must support this Agreement and the WDFN Constitution.
- Of all those to vote, there must be a majority in favour.
- WDFN Council signs the agreement and the WDFN Constitution. (Approx. 115 voters)
How do I vote?
You may vote in person at one of our designated polling stations located in Saskatoon or at Whitecap Dakota First Nation. Alternatively, you may vote electronically by using our online voting platform LBNet.
E-voting registration will take place on September 21, 2022.
Voting will take place from October 6 & 7, 2022. Polling stations will be open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM each day.
Who can vote?
Only eligible voters who are +18 on or before the last voting day will be eligible to vote.
“Eligible Voter” means a WDFN Member:
-
whose name appears on the membership list or who is entitled to have their name appear on the WDFN membership list; and
-
who is at least eighteen (18) years of age on the last day of the voting period.
All eligible voters must also present a valid piece of identification prior to submitting their vote.
