Band Membership Meeting Vote – Approving our Governance Treaty
WDFN Chief and Council have worked with Canada to amend our existing Governance Agreement to make it into a Section 35 constitutionally protected treaty. Members will be asked to vote in support of these important enhancements at the April 27th Band Membership Meeting (in-person & virtual)
Dakota Dunes Resort
In 2020, the Dakota Dunes Resort officially opened to compliment the existing Dakota Dunes Casino and the Dakota Dunes Golf Links. Featuring 155 rooms, the hotel showcases Dakota culture through its architecture, and the beautiful natural surroundings.

Dakota Language Gathering May 24-25, 2023
A gathering to bring together the Oceti Sakowin - Seven Council Fires of the Dakota, Nakota and Lakota from across the US and Canada to share in best practices in reclamation, revitalization, preservation and strengthening of our languages.

Successful All Committee Retreat Held August 23-24 at Dakota Dunes Hotel
The All Committee Retreat was hosted by Chief and Council and the Dakota Dunes Hotel to discuss self-government, health, education, culture and future projects for the Nation. It was a successful two days and we thank our committee members for their participation and support.
